THE FINNISH PLASTICS ASSOCIATION

Muoviyhdistys ry was founded in 1940 and is one of the oldest plastic societies in the world. It is a private association, which is not supported by state or other organizations, but finances its activities by member fees and by arranging different professional events.

The Finnish Plastics Association has over 1.400 members from about 800 companies (manufacturers, importers of raw-materials and machinery, universities and institutes of polymer research).

The main activities of the Finnish Plastics Association are:
- to organize annual meetings, courses etc. for the members.
- to reply to different inquiries made by not only the members, but also any person or organization needing information about the field.
- to keep in contact and to co-operate with plastic societies in other countries.
- to publish a plastics magazine, Muovi-plast, that functions also as a member bulletin.
- to maintain and host the Finnish Plastics Museum.
